Workers with an Employment Permit to work in Alderney have been reassured they can stay if they lose their job or find different category work.
A Statutory Instrument has been passed by Guernsey’s Emergency Powers Regulations to amend the Bailiwick rules during the COVID-19 crisis.
They can remain resident without being employed, or if they work for a different employer or category specified in their Employment Permit.
This applies to all permits, whether long-, medium- or short-term, although it does not affect the validity period stipulated under Population Management Law.
The temporary Regulations came into force on 25th March.
