Both Guernsey and Jersey now have leaders called Lyndon who were put in power after historic votes to force out their predecessors.
Jersey's next Chief Minister is Deputy Lyndon Farnham.
He won an election over Ian Gorst, who has been Jersey's leader before - serving two terms 2011-2018. Deputy Sam Mezec, leader of the island's Reform Jersey party, lost out in the first round of voting.
The change of leadership in Jersey followed a successful vote of no confidence in Kristina Moore, who had been the island's first female Chief Minister and now has the record of the shortest-serving and the first to be toppled mid-term.
The political unrest in Jersey has come just weeks after Guernsey's own switch at the top of government.
In December, Deputy Lyndon Trott was chosen by States members to replace Deputy Peter Ferbrache as President of Policy and Resources following a protracted debate that concluded the Assembly had lost confidence in the senior committee.
This week, the newly-constituted P&R Committee secured it's first major win, securing backing for a late amendment to the Government Work Plan that will finally see funding a new Post-16 campus at Les Ozouets.
Deputy Trott has said it signalled the return of consensus government.
Jersey's new leader also hopes for consensus, inclusiveness and 'a more united Assembly'.
Guernsey's politicians have congratulated their Channel Island colleague.
