4x4 has off road capability and is fitted with the latest life saving equipment.
The States of Alderney has helped fund the new ambulance, which has arrived in the island as it celebrates Alderney Week, the busiest week of the year.
The 4x4 is designed with Alderney in mind as it can easily negotiate some of the tracks near the south and west cliffs. It is also narrower, to cope with island roads.
It has an advanced cardiac monitor, effective lighting for night call outs and surfaces that are easy to keep germ free.
Ambulance & Rescue’s chief executive, Mark Mapp, says it is an investment in patient care:
"The technology in this ambulance is absolutely world-class and we’re proud to be delivering this to the people of Alderney. It is a step change in the front line ambulance capability in Alderney.
"It allows for safer patient transfers through the use of a self-loading electronic stretcher for better manual handling and a powered carrying chair."
The vehicle has already been used and will be on standby for Alderney Week.
Monday is Cavalcade Day when floats and people process through St Anne and onto the Butes.
Organiser Vicky Chandler says the island's population typically doubles at this time:
"They started to arrive last weekend when the schools broke up. Loads of people want to help and the atmosphere is extremely positive."
