A Portuguese film festival celebrating half a century since the 'Carnation Revolution' will be shown in Jersey.
The 13th Parish International Film Festival is showing short films on the revolution on 25 April 1974.
A brief overview is also given of how Estafo Novo and the Colonial War were portrayed in Portuguese cinema.
The films represent before, during and after the Portuguese Revolution from the perspective of resistance and fascism and the traumas of the war.
Jersey Arts Centre will host the programme on 26 May at 4:15 pm and the films will have both English and Portuguese subtitles.
Programme Co-Ordinator Una Langlois says they were honoured that so many of the Portuguese community and their representatives enjoyed the experience last year.
"It’s always our aim in the 13th Parish Festival to have a diverse and accessible programme, reaching out to as many islanders, tastes, genres and interests as possible.
"We’re hoping that this will continue to grow in future – our festival is always a celebration of incredible films and stories, told in many formats and in many languages.
"A celebration of people, places and things!"
