It's time to take a tin along to the Tinathon.
Shelter Trust is collecting canned foods at West's Centre today (9 October) between 8am and 2.30pm.
Donations go to stock the kitchens at the homeless shelters, and provide food parcels for those in need.
The annual event brings together schools, businesses and community groups and comes ahead of World Homeless Day on 10 October - raising awareness of homelessness and the work being done to support people without a secure place to live.
Every night around 100 men, women and young adults are supported by Shelter Trust in Jersey, across its seven sites.
Director of Shelter Trust Jersey, Josephine Scott, said:
“Tinathon is one of those days when you really see Jersey’s community spirit in action.
"A few tins might seem like a small contribution, but when schools, workplaces, families and individuals across the island all get involved, it makes an enormous difference.
"The food donated helps us support people throughout the year, but Tinathon is also an opportunity to talk about homelessness in Jersey and the many different circumstances that can lead someone to need our help."
Donations can also be made today at Waitrose, Alliance, M&S and Communicare and at Co-op Grand Marché, St Helier throughout October.
