Residents in a St Helier block of flats were forced to evacuate after a fire broke out last night (9 July).
The Fire Service was called several times just after 9pm.
An outside balcony was alight and the fire was starting to spread into the building and other floors.
Two teams wearing breathing equipment went into the building and a firefighting jet was used by officers who remained outside.
The blaze was quickly brought under control to stop further damage from being caused.
Firefighters think it was caused by smoking materials.
