Rouge Bouillon to finally reopen

Corner of Clarendon Road and Rouge Bouillon

After almost half a year, St Helier's ringway will be open to traffic.

It follows pedestrians being able to use the pathways again last week, on 1 May 2025.

The road has been shut since a burst water main created a sinkhole in mid-December, causing a building to become unstable, with massive cracks running up the walls.

Since then, engineers and experts have worked together to repair the damage, secure the building and reopen the road.

Concrete was poured into the road to underpin parts of the building on Wednesday, 7 May, and structural engineers have approved the road's opening when the concrete is strong enough.

This means islanders can use Rouge Bouillon again from Monday, 12 May 2025, and pedestrians can still walk along the pavement over the weekend.
