Work begins today (20 January) on creating two children's playgrounds ay Parade Gardens.
The Town Hall is spending up to £750,000 on refurbishing the existing play area, and creating a new one next to the café.
Plans were submitted last summer to upgrade the current playground for use by children aged seven and older and to make a separate playground for children aged six and under.

The upgrade is expected to include a seesaw, trampoline, rota bounce, slide, hex swing, drum set and boulders.
The parish also aims for the design to be inclusive for children who use a wheelchair and those who are neurodiverse.
The planning application stated they had taken inspiration from a recently completed play area in St Martin's Village.
The new playgrounds at Parade Gardens are expected to be ready by the end of April.
