Plans have been submitted to refurbish the Fort Regent roof.
Jersey Development Company wants to replace the Grade II listed wave form and dome roof as part of the venue's multimillion pound regeneration into a destination leisure centre.
The existing coverings, which date back to 1974, will be removed.
The application says the works 'are designed to protect its character while addressing urgent maintenance needs'.
JDC CEO Lee Henry writes:
"The roof has deteriorated due to age. The refurbishment works are essential to protect the building's integrity and ensure public safety.
"The project will involve replacing roof coverings, replacement glazing systems and facade elements and improving weatherproofing generally.
"This refurbishment will secure Fort Regent's long-term future, safeguard its heritage value, and support its continued use as a community and cultural venue as part of broader regeneration plans."
Plans for the Fort include a 2,500 seat concert hall, cinema, bowling alley, climbing walls, rooftop bar, gardens and running track.
The government is set to borrow £43 million to fund the first phase of the work.

There is a target date for completion of December 2028.
